Coffee culture have flourish over the year in the heart warming city of KL

Spending the afternoon during weekday @ a unique coffee boutique is my kind of luxury.

Tucked away in the corner off a busy street right behind the police station, VCR shine in the array of coziness.

Is modern simplicity interior paired with wood metal furniture gives the cafe a cool and raw outlook.

It's narrow staircase leads us to a second floor which married the creative use of a container to the core structure of the heritage building to provide extra space for guest to enjoy and slowly sip away. There's also a tiny outdoor section where one can opt to ponder on the small field on the upper floor.

A cup of coffee and a slice of sweetness reminds me the simplicity of happiness.

For a wholesome experience, try to ask for recommendation from their baristas and don't be shy to pick up a sweet lovely slice of cake for your beautiful day !!

Starbucks recent launched of their new Espresso Confections in 2 Flavors namely the Chestnut Praline Latte & Raspberry Truffle Mocha.

I must admit that I'm not a fan of flavored coffee but I'm sold for that pink color raspberry whipped cream. So ~ I tried .... It was all so SWEET !!! I can still taste raspberry and its indeed refreshing. The chocolaty flavor from the mocha adds on to the contrasting light fruity flavor of raspberry.

Personally, I still think is a combination of sweet on sweet and look sweet too.. but if you ain't a fan of "confections" this may not be your next favorite drink. But it is some interesting flavor here so I do suggest to give it a try. I still prefer my coffee to have the aromatic roasted fragrant in them.

Yet another visit to one of KL listed must visit coffee located in the heart of Sunway.

Garage 51 - a unique warehouse-ish concept coffee place that serves a selective number of sandwiches, coffee and some savoury goods.

A glance through the menu and im delighted with one of the ingredient serve in quite a few of its dishes. My dear avocado :)

I also do come across some interesting find such as the Nutella, coffee ice cubes serve with cold milk.. A rather interesting yet sinful blend which certainly understand the idea of avoiding diluted iced coffee.

So an order was placed, a meal for two. I ordered roll in a hole which simple relates to a serving of avocado mash, tomato salsa,cream cheese topped with smoked salmon and serve over a bagel along with a vinegratte drizzled mixed green.

I liked all the component of this dish but wish that there were slightly more avocado mash to it. Simply because it can balance off the strong creamy texture from the cream cheese and do not get overpowered by the sour taste from the salsa.

Another dish has something to do with a home made hash brown with ham and poached egg topped with hollandaise sauce. Disaster...why? The hash brown was soggy and bland. The egg was in a hard boiled state. No runny yolk no crispy potatoes.. :(

Portion was over the 'fine' side.. coffee was alright.. nothing much to shout about. Maybe really it's signature dishes and drinks that sells..

Spent almost RM80 for breakfast for two. No complains for its setting though.

Most likely won't be any revisit given the let down of the food served. But do recommend to try out, I could just happen to be the less lucky one.

As many have shared their happy moments dining at this little gem in town, I have finally made it to one of the top 20 must visit cafe in KL.

Thanks to an impromptu invite by a girl friend who had a sudden crave of ABC famous cempedak cake.

I would say I'm certainly under dressed to walk in with flipflop and I don't mean the brand.. lolx..

Sadly cempedak is not in season so we opted to nonetheless its close cousin Sir Jackfruit...

Don't get fool by the layers of jackfruit cream lying sinful between the soft bouncy cake base.. because they are awesomely light and well balanced.

Paired with a cup of nice warm White Ambroise from tea forte just made my day.

Wanting more from the menu, I was tempted for their fried vegetable (lotus root, yam, sweet potato) drizzle with truffle oil.

Presentation wise was all good. First bite, the yam was slightly undercooked, lotus root was slightly overcooked and the bucket of vegetables were salted uneven. There's no dip to the dish nor any trace of the aroma from the truffle oil.

Certainly was hoping for something way better than this. But I'll certainly return for I aim to try out their lamb shoulder and salted egg chicken strips.

Price wise, slightly on the high side but bare able. RM70++ for 2 cups of tea, a slice of cake and a bucket of fried vegetables.

Thanks to Xavier, got invited for the December promotion food review last Saturday with a group of other pretty bloggers at Chilla Cup - Mont Kiara.

Let's start of with some of the all-time favorite serve here in Chilla Cup. Their signatures are not their food nor their drinks but is their concept of serving everything freshly baked and freshly brew. Having said so, the coffee bean are fully imported from an artisan roaster in Singapore where coffee beans are roasted in the amount of 15 kg per session to control the quality of the production.

So what we had for the day was 3 of its signature pretzel - sea salt (RM 6.90), cinnamon sugar (RM 7.50) & sweet potato filled pretzel (RM 9.90). All there pretzels are very filling and generous in portion. If you find the plain pretzel being too boring, you can always order some dipping sauce to go along. I personally prefer the cinnamon sugar because the way they serve it and every bite gives you a mouthful of cinnamon sugar.

If you looking for something more filling and super sinful - I recommend the have the "double cheese honey". It's a thick toast top with mozzarella, parmesan cheese and drizzle over with honey. *Highly recommended to share this or have it with some tea or black coffee.

Next in the row is something even more sinful but this time goes to the sweet tooth category. Caramel butter thick toast - a crunchy buttered thick toast top with enormous amount of fresh cream and drizzled over with caramel sauce. * Eat it quick before the cream monster melt away. Every bite taste heavenly - goes well with tea and black coffee to gives you the balance of taste.

We also had pepperoni tortilla (looks pretty much like a pizza) and it's rather standard. But the serving was good for RM 12.50 you can share with 2 to 3 person if you looking for something to snack away.

Now the focus of the month would be the latest promotional dishes and these are non permanent dishes that will be available only throughout this December.

There are a total of 3 dishes that will be available specially for the month - a chicken stew served with wholemeal pita, pan seared dory served over cream sauce pasta and also a grilled chicken served with chips and fries. All dishes comes with a drink of the month (RM 18.90) which is Lychee crush and you can upgrade to any coffee or tea for an additional RM 3.

The chicken is super tender, well seasoned, the sauce keeps the chicken moist and succulent. We finished off the plate within minutes and requested for a second serving. Nothing out of space about the taste, but the texture is superb.

Chicken stew is definitely the underdog among the 3 dishes. It may look bland but its taste is wholesome. The chicken bites are very tender, the diced potatoes and carrots compliments the taste of the broth so well. However, I found the wholemeal pita may not be the stew best friends. It needed something stronger in taste. Perhaps a crunchy garlic buttered toast may do the trick.

My personal pick will be this pan seared dory served with cream pasta. The fish was well seasoned and seared to perfection. I can feel the fluffiness in every bite.

The drinks that come along these dishes is somewhat "predictable". Anyway a lychee will always taste like what it is but when blended with crush ice, I find it somewhat refreshing.
