It's been quiet sometime since I explore my way into the gastronomy offerings in Pavilion infamous Food Republic at its lower ground floor.
As I was making my way down the escalator, my initial intention was to grab a chunky mega fried chicken chop from Hot Star ☆☆☆

What caught my attention next was the tiny narrow store selling Taiwanese food named 小霸王. I remember seeing the store somewhere but I couldn't recall. Then it rings a bell... Singapore Ion!

Without any hassle I ordered a set meal which include a serving of mee sua, fried chicken nuggets, herbal tea egg and a drink of your choice. You can also op for a bowl of mince meat rice if you are a rice person. But I certainly recommend to try their mee sua at least once. The taste is well balance with generous amount of meatballs.

As the chicken takes slightly longer time to be served, it took me by surprise when it comes in a rather large serving. The taste was alright but I was expecting it to be crispier. Perhaps because of its thin batter and the enclose wrapping was of serving the dish, it gets soggy very quickly.

Nonetheless, I do see myself returning to the store again and for less than RM20 a meal (quite large). Chip in a lil extra for another main course and you will have a meal good for sharing as well.
Yet another visit to one of KL listed must visit coffee located in the heart of Sunway.

Garage 51 - a unique warehouse-ish concept coffee place that serves a selective number of sandwiches, coffee and some savoury goods.

A glance through the menu and im delighted with one of the ingredient serve in quite a few of its dishes. My dear avocado :)

I also do come across some interesting find such as the Nutella, coffee ice cubes serve with cold milk.. A rather interesting yet sinful blend which certainly understand the idea of avoiding diluted iced coffee.

So an order was placed, a meal for two. I ordered roll in a hole which simple relates to a serving of avocado mash, tomato salsa, cream cheese topped with smoked salmon and serve over a bagel along with a vinegratte drizzled mixed green.

I liked all the component of this dish but wish that there were slightly more avocado mash to it. Simply because it can balance off the strong creamy texture from the cream cheese and do not get overpowered by the sour taste from the salsa.

Another dish has something to do with a home made hash brown with ham and poached egg topped with hollandaise sauce. Disaster...why? The hash brown was soggy and bland. The egg was in a hard boiled state. No runny yolk no crispy potatoes.. :(

Portion was over the 'fine' side.. coffee was alright.. nothing much to shout about. Maybe really it's signature dishes and drinks that sells..
Spent almost RM80 for breakfast for two. No complains for its setting though.

Most likely won't be any revisit given the let down of the food served. But do recommend to try out, I could just happen to be the less lucky one.
As many have shared their happy moments dining at this little gem in town, I have finally made it to one of the top 20 must visit cafe in KL.

Thanks to an impromptu invite by a girl friend who had a sudden crave of ABC famous cempedak cake.

I would say I'm certainly under dressed to walk in with flipflop and I don't mean the brand.. lolx..
Sadly cempedak is not in season so we opted to nonetheless its close cousin Sir Jackfruit...

Don't get fool by the layers of jackfruit cream lying sinful between the soft bouncy cake base.. because they are awesomely light and well balanced.

Paired with a cup of nice warm White Ambroise from tea forte just made my day.

Wanting more from the menu, I was tempted for their fried vegetable (lotus root, yam, sweet potato) drizzle  with truffle oil.

Presentation wise was all good. First bite, the yam was slightly undercooked, lotus root was slightly overcooked and the bucket of vegetables were salted uneven. There's no dip to the dish nor any trace of the aroma from the truffle oil.

Certainly was hoping for something way better than this. But I'll certainly return for I aim to try out their lamb shoulder and salted egg chicken strips.

Price wise, slightly on the high side but bare able. RM70++ for 2 cups of tea, a slice of cake and a bucket of fried vegetables.

Thanks to a late night meet up session with a friend and we randomly walk up to this Mediterranean gem in town.

Spoilt by the options for late night munchies in Pavilion, a compliment from a sweet diner convinced us to step foot into O'galito.

We were received with warm welcome by friendly and attentive staffs. Sitted within a cozy corner in the inside of the restaurant, we happily chatted and laugh away the rest of our evening.

Their offerings were plenty and we decided to do it the 'feeling lucky' way.. so we go with 2 tapas, pasta of the day and something else from the menu.

• Black bean . nachos
• Fried mozzarella.
• Grilled sea bass with squid ink pasta
• Seafood baked pasta

Nachos were perfect fit for the beef and black bean mince.  Fried mozzarella were all stringy and compliment it's crunchiness is the humble tartar sauce. Certain in love the fresh squid ink pasta as it taste less chewy with a tinge of spiciness in its sauce. Sea bass was grilled to perfection with crispy skin yet  moist fillet. The seafood baked pasta was the one that shares the most predictable flavor.  Its pasta was cooked al Dante. The portion was generous and is a place that I will certainly revisit. Our billed came up to rm 150.00 for 3 person containing 2 tapas, two main course and 2 lemonade. Certainly a place that I would be revisiting soon.

After a huge excitement over a staple food recently, the almighty instant noodle has become a talk of a town.

Yes, I'm certainly talking about infamous Penang White Curry from MyKuali.

To my surprise, it does promise a good taste like the real deal.

Its springy noodle allows you to slowly savor the flavourful broth without worrying it getting all soggy.

The broth consist of a mixed of 3 individual flavoring packs. A pack of the usual seasoning, a pack of white color powder @ santan/milk looking seasoning and a pack of rich curry paste.

Unlike your usual noodle where some prefer to have the broth made separately.  You are advice to cook the noodle along with all 3 packs of the seasoning.

I decided to go straight off with the typical instant noodles preparation with nothing more than just noodle and soup.

The taste is so rich and undoubtedly just like your neighbourhood curry. A great combination that I personally think of would a lots of taufu pok and fu chuk, some fishcake too! May also want to consider adding im bee hoon the next round and save some of the curry paste as condiment and not to forget the lime , maybe some sotong too.

Certainly one of best curry flavoured instant noodle so far.. slurp slurp...

Craving for some crunch ? What about a trip to Ayam Penyet @ Oasis Square for an authentic Indonesian meal of crunchy full flavoured dishes.

Definitely not to miss would be the Ayam Penyet itself - crispy deep fried chicken sprinkle with a wholesome load of kriuk-kriuk. Serve with some fresh cucumber, tempeh, tofu and speciality chilli with a sweet note of slight spiciness. The chicken is prep in "secret" penyet marinade and smashed before its serve. The fermented flavor of the tempeh sits just nice for those who dislike sourish taste.

While you certainly can't resist the chicken, for those who enjoy the red meat category, I do suggest to go with the beef ribs penyet. It may be fried but the meat texture is still tender with a rich taste of spices. Eating it along with the sambal enhances the richness of the dish even more.

Beside these infamous crunch mania, you can also op for something light such as the Chicken bakmee, which reminds me the taste of sesame chicken noodle. It's serve dry with diced chicken cube seasoned with soya sauce, sugar and sesame oil.

Personally I adore the sup tulang, chunks of beef cooked in rich vegetable broth. The meat is so tender that it  break into nice bits if you run your fork over it. You can definitely taste the collagen from the meat with just a single sip of the lovely soup.

Other specialties including Gado-Gado - an Indonesian salad serve with peanut sauce and crackers made out of white beans. If you fancy something more saucy, go for the beef rendang (just as juicy and tender) and you can chomp down an entire bowl of rice in no time.

Yum yum ~

Recalling my last encounter with this malt drink Mr Horlick was.... ~ ~ fuzzy fuzzy... not quite sure when was it. I was more of a Milo fan and find pale malty drink a little too healthy for my liking.
